Before & Aftercare

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT We kindly ask everyone to arrive with clean skin (no heavy makeup). Eyebrow makeup is OK if you want your artist to see your shape preference, colour, etc. This will be removed before the procedure begins. Stop using skin thinners & skin lighteners (Retinol/Retin A, glycolic acids, hydroquinone) on the brow area 2 weeks prior to your appointment. Facials/chemical peels need to be done at least 1 month before your appointment. Avoid sun/ tanning bed exposure for 2 weeks BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a sunburn, you will need to reschedule. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the tattoo pigment with it. Waxing/threading services must be done at least 72 hours prior (this is not necessary but it cannot be done close to the appointment as it can sensitize the skin). Tinting must be done at least 1 week prior. Botox & Fillers must be done at least 2 weeks prior and cannot be done until 2 weeks post treatment. Avoid coffee, alcohol or energy drinks (any caffeinated beverage) 24 hours BEFORE the procedure. Scheduling an appointment close to the time of your monthly cycle will also make you more sensitive.

AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT

MICROBLADING AFTERCARE The day of your procedure you will leave with Vaseline covering your freshly Microbladed eyebrows. Keep the Vaseline on until that evening. Before bed, blot your brows with a damp paper towel to cleanse the area and let them air dry. Clean your eyebrows with only water very gently 3 times a day for the next 10 days. Immediately after, the brow area will be extremely dark and will continue to darken over the next 48 hours as light scabs form in the area. 30-50% of your pigment will be contained within the scabs. Some clients may experience a temporary warm colour to the pigment which will neutralize within the next few days. Over the next 7-14 days your scabs should naturally flake off little by little. Some people scab in light flakes and some develop a thick scab, everyone is different. Absolutely do NOT pick at the scabs and make sure you follow the aftercare instructions closely to obtain the best results. If the scabbing phase is not over after 14 days, please continue your aftercare instructions until scabs are completely gone, it is NEVER acceptable or necessary to remove the scabs manually. After the scabbing phase is over, you will notice that the colour of your pigment seems foggy and muted in colour because a layer of skin has grown over the pigment to seal it in. Don't worry!!! Over the next several weeks, your skin will regenerate and the pigment will be more vibrant once again. The complete healing process takes no less than 6 weeks which is when the true pigment will show. You may apply an ice pack after your treatment to reduce any swelling or discomfort. Remember, when brows are completely healed, you will loose 20%-30% of the colour and thickness.

FRECKLE AFTERCARE After your freckle procedure, you want to avoid touching the area. Before bed lightly dab lukewarm water to the face and blot dry with paper towel for the first night. Repeat this 2-3 times a day for the first seven days. Makeup is not recommended during the healing process, and you want to avoid itching your face. Light scabs may form for some people, let these naturally flake off. Non-scented, water-based moisturizer is ok to use after the second day. You also want to avoid heavy sweating and sunlight for 7-10 days after this procedure.

BROW LAMINATION AFTERCARE You will leave your Lamination appointment with a Keratin treatment soaking the brows. Leave this on for the remainder of the day. You want to avoid getting your brows wet for the first 12-24 hours, including steam. Keeping the brows hydrated is very important. Running coconut oil, argan oil, vitamin E oil or castor oil with a spoolie or q-tip through the hairs before bed is recommended.

THINGS TO AVOID IN YOUR HEALING PROCESS
